Sustainability in your luggage
Strong for the future. Fair. Environmentally conscious.
Our principle of preserving and shaping quality of life.
Sustainability at racktime and in the HEBIE GROUP.
Sustainable development requires a strong plan. We are pursuing this path with a realistic CSR concept and key areas of action. With regard to social, environmental and economic impact areas.
In this way, we gather experience and engage in dialogue with our stakeholders. We want to continue developing in a mindful manner and on equal terms.
Our thoughts and actions revolve around:
Safe products that impress:
With high-quality materials, durable designs and innovative ideas. From raw materials to processing and recycling, we take care to conserve resources and minimise waste.
Partnerships that last:
Together with our customers and suppliers, we are committed to long-term cooperation, mutual respect and high social and environmental standards on all sides.
Acting with heart and mind:
Through a safe and diverse working environment, promotion of health, team spirit and a positive corporate culture.
Helping to shape the future:
By promoting cycling culture and sustainable mobility, as well as reducing climate impact and environmental pollution. For a planet that can regenerate itself.
Sustainability – for a good life today and in the future
This presents both an opportunity and a responsibility. Our durable products represent freedom and joie de vivre and are designed to benefit people worldwide. They are made for the most environmentally friendly mode of transport: the bicycle.
We want to help preserve our world so that future generations can enjoy it too.

BASKIT EDGE
Our pioneer in resource conservation and circular economy: Rust-free, highly durable and long-lasting – this basket is made from 50%* recycled plastic, using post-industrial waste (PIR) as the source material. Manufactured at our site in Bielefeld, it has only a short journey before hitting the road as a versatile transport solution on any bike. With a 10-year warranty, the BASKIT EDGE sets the standard for what we expect from our products.
* The 50% refers to the portion of the overall material that can be replaced with recycled content.
SNAPIT 2.0 ADAPTER
SNAPIT 2.0 CONNECT
With the SNAPIT 2.0 ADAPTER/SNAPIT 2.0 CONNECT, we also see the sustainability aspect in that we focus not only on quality and durability, but also on short distances, efficient processes and resource-saving in-house production of plastic parts. Through in-house production (except for springs, clamps and screws), we avoid unnecessary transport, reduce CO₂ emissions and utilise our own expertise and existing technologies with high added value. This is how products that are future-oriented and environmentally conscious are created at our Bielefeld site as part of the ‘Made in Bielefeld Strategy’.
Our SDGs as a sustainability compass
As part of an internal stakeholder dialogue – and with the support of B.A.U.M. Consult – tubus in Münster underwent the CheckN sustainability check. Based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have identified goals that are appropriate for us and where we can do the most. They form the basis for strengthening our positive sustainability aspects and minimising our negative ones. Under the umbrella of the HEBIE GROUP, we are thus constantly evolving. We regularly reflect on our derived goals and ongoing measures. You can find specific information on this in our Sustainability Report 2024.
ISO 9001 quality management
Our quality management system lays the foundation for clear processes, up-to-date practices and transparency. It also helps us identify areas with potential room for improvement. Aligned with the ISO standard, it promotes a process-oriented approach across the HEBIE GROUP by focusing on specific tasks or groups of tasks. We apply and continuously refine the system at Hebie in Bielefeld and tubus in Münster as part of our commitment to ongoing improvement. This ensures traceable workflows, credibility with our customers and the ability to meet evolving customer expectations.
Certified as a bike-friendly employer
tubus in Münster has been awarded the EU-wide ‘Silver’ certification for bike-friendly employers – a joint initiative by the EU and the ADFC. Employees have access to secure, convenient bike storage close to the workplace, charging points for e-bikes, and repair facilities, along with showers and changing rooms.
Code of Conduct for Suppliers
Our Code of Conduct (CoC) provides our suppliers with a set of guidelines that clearly outline our expectations. The Code of Conduct enables them to engage in dialogue with us at any time. As an external obligation, it forms the interface between our sustainability values and goals and the desired behaviour of our suppliers.
Three-pillar model of sustainability
Our sustainable development is based on the three pillars of environment, economy and social responsibility. When making decisions, we strive to achieve the best possible compromise between these three dimensions of sustainability.
Environmentally friendly production.
Our economic success depends largely on protecting the climate, soil, water, air and biodiversity. Production and consumption should have as little impact on the environment and natural resources as possible.
Operating responsibly.
Our products are high-quality and modern. They combine function, design and durability – standing for safety and trust. We want to operate in a socially and environmentally responsible manner – in harmony with people and nature.
Acting in a socially just manner.
Acting sustainably and successfully is a joint task. Without good cooperation and the necessary attentiveness, this is not possible. Compliance with high social standards throughout the entire value chain is essential.
You can find more detailed insights into the areas of ecology, economy and social issues in our Sustainability Report 2024.
‘Sustainable development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.’
(Brundtland Report, 1987)
Significance of our sustainability goals
We want to make a difference in the long term. And we set ourselves realistic goals to achieve this. We focus on economically sound strategies that support sustainable development. We see our goals as part of a very dynamic development that must be adaptable.
‘We take stock of our emissions at our site and within our supply chain on an annual basis and aim to continuously reduce CO₂ emissions. To this end, we are establishing a PCF (product carbon footprint) model and promoting transparency in the supply chain, for example.’
‘Think about the end right from the start: circular design and business models should be considered and promoted, taking into account the possibility of sustainable materials for our products and value retention at the end of the product's useful life, such as through repairability or recycling of materials.’
We want to continue providing our key stakeholders with regular, transparent and honest information about our social, environmental and economic developments in the form of a sustainability report.’
You can find our strategic and operational goals with ongoing measures and developments in our Sustainability Report 2024.
